Premium C&T outlets close doors in Japan and France

Chanel is to close two boutiques out of a total of 39 in Japan after a strategic decision to rationalise its network in weakening markets, notably Asia and the US. One outlet is based on Osaka and the other on the island of Kyushu where the inflow of customers seeking luxury products has declined.

Meanwhile in France, perfume and cosmetics chain Marionnaud is to close its Paris Look duty-free shop on the Boulevard Haussmann by the end of June as the number of foreign visitors declines. Marionnaud operates 559 perfumery outlets and 271 beauty institutes in France.
