Plastic possibilities

UV litho printer Plastiscene is using a new process that prints metallic ink on clear plastic thanks to a collaboration with MetalFX, the company that perfected the technology. Atomic MK, Plastiscene's sister company, has designed a CD mailing package to be used by Plastiscene for the promotion of MetalFX. The process can achieve a whole spectrum of metallic colours, says the company.

"It's an exciting time for us and I'm sure that packaging designers will be equally enthused once they see the limitless opportunities there are for producing multiple metallic shades on plastic," comments Plastiscene's Jennifer Deacon.
