Beauty packaging will be making its presence felt  at Packaging Innovations, which returns to the NEC on 26 and 27 February 2014, offering an array  of packaging solutions, international exhibitors and world-class speakers.

Major names including GF Smith, HH Deluxe Packaging, Macfarlane Packaging, M&H Plastics, Measom Freer, Aptar Beauty + Home and Toly have all signed up to exhibit. The show has also attracted luxury exhibitor, Leo Luxe, for the second time, Cuan O’Callaghan, Sales Manager for Leo Luxe remarks:

"Packaging Innovations is an ideal place to showcase our packaging developments, as there is always a great footfall of high quality prospects. For 2014 we will be introducing even more ‘attention grabbing’ concepts for beauty and cosmetics as this is an ever growing luxury market that embraces innovative decorative design.”

Making its UK debut is Seriplast who will be showcasing its latest development for the plastic packaging industry. Fiona Nicholls, International Relations for Seriplast, explains why her company has decided to exhibit:

“After asking around in the UK, Packaging Innovations at the NEC, was the show most recommended to us by others so it seemed only logical to offer British customers the same innovations and choice from which the French and European cosmetic and pharmacy companies benefit.”

For those wanting to keep up with the latest issues and trends there will be an array of free-to-attend learnShops seminars, with expert and case-study speakers spanning the world of beauty packaging. Among the speakers will be Paul Day, Packaging Technologist at Neal’s Yard Remedies, who will be joined by brands such as Marks & Spencer, Promens and Essentra, just to name a few.

Visitors to the show will also be able to get one-to-one personalised advice on any aspect of their packaging from industry professionals at the  Packaging Consultancy Clinic, or take part in Lions’ Lair where they can grill a few brave exhibitors as they pitch their latest innovations to a panel of packaging specialists, hoping  to receive a very public thumbs up.

The BIG Packaging Debate will also be returning to the NEC, where a panel of packaging experts will form a lively Question Time style session. A  drinks reception for all those visiting the show will be held after the debate at the close of the show on Wednesday providing an opportunity to meet the panel and the rest of the speakers at the show, network with colleagues, new contacts, and exhibitors.

Alison Church, Packaging Innovations’ Event Director, comments: “Packaging design and branding are essential to selling a product, particularly in  the cosmetic sector. Beauty brands fight for consumer attention, so the packaging has to present the product and reinforce the consumer’s reason to believe in the brand. For anyone looking for innovative packaging concepts, new labeling techniques or just to refresh the packaging of their products, our show will provide them with the latest ideas hitting the market.”

The 2014 event will feature seven co-located shows: Packaging Innovations, Ecopack, Contract Pack, Packtech, Print Innovations, Labelling Innovations and, new for 2014, Converting Innovations. Each show addresses a specific sphere of packaging, thus providing an overall show for the full packaging supply chain, from the machinery, technology and equipment, to design and branding, forms and concepts, plus outsourcing partners to help take a product to market.
