UK podcast Outspoken Beauty has teamed up with wholesale marketplace Curate Beauty on a year-long partnership to support indie beauty brands.
As part of the initiative, Outspoken Beauty host and beauty editor Nicola Bonn will be joined by Curate Beauty co-founders Samantha Freedman and Margot Vitale to create the series, which will showcase fledgling beauty brands.
The team also hopes to drive sales through the Outspoken Beauty audience.
The team at Outspoken Beauty are also launching its #TheOutspoken Community Panel, a free membership scheme that gives beauty enthusiasts access to products from the indie brands for free in exchange for customer feedback.
“The Outspoken Panel initiative was created as a way of giving underrepresented women a voice and a chance to speak up on what they want from the beauty industry,” Bonn told Cosmetics Business.
“Launching the initiative with Curate Beauty felt like the perfect time – there is so much synergy between us in terms of wanting to support and increase visibility for the people and brands that may not have the means of getting themselves out there.”
She added: “It felt important to start things off by giving listeners and panelists the opportunity to discover brands they may not have heard of, as well as champion the smaller businesses that have weathered the impact of Covid-19.”
The new podcast is expected to kick-off on 13 September.
Bonn created the podcast in order to discuss beauty, wellness and mental health, covering industry insights and beauty news, as well as contentious issues in the industry.
Meanwhile, Curate Beauty was founded to facilitate independent retailers’ entry and success in the category, and helps companies to discover and purchase from more than 150 brands.
