US fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has died at the age of 82.
The Dominican-American designer, whose brand also included bath and body products, nail polish and fragrances, was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. According to reports, de la Renta passed away at his home in Connecticut.
The designer was born in the Dominican Republic in 1932 and left home at 18 to study painting in Madrid. He went on to take up an apprenticeship with Spanish designer Cristobal Balenciaga. The designer’s fragrances include Something Blue, Live in Love and Esprit d’Oscar.
