Consumer demand for anti-ageing products has led to an increase in cosmetics companies using recombinant growth factors.

In response, Icelandic company ORF Genetics has introduced a new green, biorisk-free growth factor. Marketed as ISOkine, it is produced using ORF’s Orfeus expression platform, derived from barley grain. ISOkine is billed as a unique alternative to growth factors produced from bacterial or animal-based platforms.
