Nivea increases market share in Eastern Europe

Beiersdorf’s Nivea brand has recorded above average growth in Eastern European markets, with sales up by 20% for the first half of 2008. The brand’s Nivea Visage franchise recorded a 14% increase for the same period, while the Nivea For Men line increased by almost 18%.


Beiersdorf’s Nivea brand has recorded above average growth in Eastern European markets, with sales up by 20% for the first half of 2008. The brand’s Nivea Visage franchise recorded a 14% increase for the same period, while the Nivea For Men line increased by almost 18%.

Market share was particularly strong in Poland, which recorded sales of Euro 132m, making the Nivea brand a market leader in six product categories. Nivea Polska, Beiersforf AG’s Polish affiliate has expanded its production facilities in Poznàn as a result.

“Consumers in Eastern Europe have long associated the Nivea brand with well-being and trusted familiarity,” commented member of Beiersdorf’s executive board, responsible for brands, Pieter Nota.
