Robertet acquires Spanish florals specialists Aroma Esencial

The French fragrances and flavours manufacturer is boosting its presence in natural fine fragrances

The Robertet Group, the French fragrances and flavours manufacturer has acquired natural scent specialists Aroma Esencial for an undisclosed sum. 

The Spanish firm focuses on processing florals including vetiver, patchouli, cedar, ylang-ylang for the perfume industry. 

Aroma Esencial's offering also includes high-end industrial tools for fractionation and molecular distillation, and a range of strategic products for the fine fragrance industry.

Robertet's Director of Raw Materials, Julien Maubert, said: "This acquisition is fully in line with our desire to consolidate our position as world leader in natural aromatic ingredients and to strengthen our competitive advantage through a unique offering for our customers.”

Founded in 1850 and minority-owned by rival Firmenich, Robertet's deal with Aroma Esencial is part of the company's plan to steadily expand its portfolio. 

Robertet purchase a majority stake in natural and organics cosmetics specialist Sirius in 2020, followed by an acquisition of natural flavours and extracts manufacturer Ecom Food Industries in 2021.
