Summary assesses saturated branched chain alcohols in fragrance


The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM), an international scientific authority for the safe use of fragrance materials has released a new summary which deems certain fragrance ingredients as safe.

In the Safety Assessment of Saturated Branched Chain Alcohols when used as Fragrance Ingredients, the group evaluated 20 saturated branched chain alcohols and related fragrance material reviews (FMRs) including 12 primary, five secondary and three tertiary alcohols. It found no safety concerns under the current declared levels of use.
