You don’t mess with P&G, a company with around 40,000 patents. Target Corp has pulled its teeth whitener brand following pressure from household products giant Procter & Gamble.

P&G is suing supplier private label operator Clio USA for patent infringement for a strip of material used to apply teeth whitening to teeth. Although there is a range of teeth whitening products available, Crest WhiteStrips take almost 70% of the North American teeth whitening market – and P&G is quick to pounce on any product or company that infringes its rights.
