The Canadian Department store chain is revamping the beauty departments in six of its 90 stores

Department store chain Hudson’s Bay is carrying out a revamp of the beauty departments in six of its 90 stores.

The stores chosen for the new look are four flagships, in Yorkdale, Queen Street Toronto, Saint Catherine Street in downtown Montreal (the largest in terms of cosmetics sales volume) and downtown Vancouver.

There are also two suburban stores that have been given a new look: one in Sherway Gardens in western Toronto’s Etobicoke district and another in Ville d’Anjou, Montreal.

It is the first major revamp of the beauty floors in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal in 15 years. Most of the beauty areas have gained around 30% - 40% more footfall, and brands have been allowed to customise their outlets as they wish. Around 12 new brands have also been added, including Viktor & Rolf.
