German retailer Douglas has expanded its #strongertogether initiative to help small businesses and self-employed consumers boost their visibility during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The ‘local heroes’, as Douglas describes them, have been forced to shut up shop as the coronavirus continues to threaten lives globally.

The retailer will allow businesses with up to ten employees, as well as local retailers in beauty, wellness, health and hygiene, to showcase their products via its website with editorial and product content.

“We see #strongertogether as an act of solidarity, which is more important than ever at the moment,” said Douglas’s CEO Tina Müller.

“That’s why we’re working intently on developing concepts for helping out in quick, straightforward ways.

“With #helplocalheroes, we want to help small businesses and self-employed people boost their visibility using the broad reach of our Doulgas digital channels.”

Participants can take part by posting on Instagram with the #strongertogether and #helplocalheroes hashtags and tagging @douglas_cosmetics.
