Melis del Rey is the Director of Health & Beauty at Amazon, the world's leading e-commerce company.

With a career spanning nearly 20 years in cosmetics, del Rey's CV includes leading Olay and Pantene at P&G before joining the online giant in 2014 and being named Amazon's Head of Beauty in 2017.

"The beauty industry is a passionate place where you get to work with incredible brands whose sole purpose is to make their customer’s dreams come true and help them feel their best every day," she tells Cosmetics Business. "I truly enjoy being part of that magic."

What attracted you to apply for your first role at Amazon?

I was actually approached by Amazon during a time when e-commerce was starting to become a materially important channel for UK consumers.
