The Swedish packaging company will take over Nampak Cartons Nigeria and BSC Drukarnia Opakowań to better serve customers worldwide

AR Packaging, the Swedish packaging company, has acquired Germany-based rlc packaging group as part of its ongoing global expansion plan.

The deal includes indirect shares in Nampak Cartons Nigeria and BSC Drukarnia Opakowań S.A., based in Africa and Poland respectively, which the company hopes will help it become a market leader in the beauty, health care and pharmacy sectors.

With Nigeria's Nampak Cartons, it also marks an important first step into the African market, allowing it to better serve a wider variety of customers across three continents, according to the group.

Harald Schulz, President and CEO of AR Packaging, said: “We are very pleased at having received full clearance on the acquisitions and warmly welcome the new companies in our group.

“The customers of rlc packaging, BSC and Nampak will benefit from our group’s unique product portfolio, including multi-substrate packaging for a wide range of applications.”

All the acquired companies will now operate under the AR Packaging name, while the company confirmed it has begun the integration process with the companies' local management teams.

Offering a range of flexible and carton-based packaging solutions, today AR Packaging is active over 28 plants in 13 countries, employing 5,500 people worldwide.
