Natural Spa Factory launches ‘CellCulture’, a fermented active essence concept showcasing the future of biotech skincare

Showcasing the future of skincare innovation

Bath based UK manufacturer Natural Spa Factory has unveiled its latest conceptual prototype, CellCulture, a fermented active essence created to demonstrate the potential of bio-fermentation in next-generation skincare formulations

CellCulture is a clear, lightweight essence formulated with postbiotic peptides and bio-fermented botanical extracts produced through low-energy, circular processes.

Fermentation breaks down complex plant substrates into smaller, more bioavailable molecules — enhancing skin penetration, boosting efficacy, and naturally supporting the skin microbiome and barrier function.

“Fermentation is one of the most exciting frontiers in skincare innovation,” said Founder, Emma Webber at Natural Spa Factory. “It brings together biotech, sustainability and skin health — exactly what new brands are looking for.”

Key Concept Features

  • Bio-fermented actives with enhanced skin bioavailability
  • Postbiotic compounds to support skin barrier and microbiome balance
  • Upcycled botanical substrates for circular, low-energy production
  • Minimalist glass dropper bottle for a clinical, premium aesthetic

CellCulture forms part of Natural Spa Factory’s “Future Formulations” series of innovation-led concept prototypes designed to inspire emerging skincare brands and showcase the next wave of sustainable, high-performance product development.
