Packaging solutions provider MeadWestvaco Corporation has announced that it will discontinue operations at its MWV Calmar pump and dispensing, manufacturing and distribution operations in Washington Court House, Ohio. The closure forms part of MWV’s accelerated strategic cost management programme announced on 15 January.

MWV is consolidating production and equipment from its Washington Court House facility, which manufactures dispensers for the C&T industry, to its San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico, which the company says features more advanced production equipment and processes. The company expects the transition to be completed by the end of 2009 after which a small component manufacturing presence will be maintained at the site.
