The EU's scientific committee on consumer products has called for more information on the EPISKIN test method, which replaces using animals to assess skin irritation of cosmetic ingredients.

The EU's scientific committee on consumer products has called for more information on the EPISKIN test method, which replaces using animals to assess skin irritation of cosmetic ingredients.

“As no information is available… with respect to colouration effects,” the SCCP said, “additional data are necessary to fully support the EPISKIN method,” ruled the committee.
