Michelle Heaton has been named as the new face of Perfectha – a range of cosmetic fillers designed to treat superficial wrinkles.
Heaton was previously known as a member of pop group Liberty X until the band split in 2007. Since then, she has forged a career in reality TV and presenting. She regularly appears on Loose Women and has joined Irish entertainment show Xpose as a reporter.
Heaton has also spoken publicly about testing positive for the BRCA2 gene. This meant that she had a 80% chance of developing breast cancer and a 30% chance of developing ovarian cancer. She elected to undertake a double mastectomy and hysterectomy in 2015.
Heaton says: “I’m sure most women would admit that they are never 100% happy with their face or their body but I’ve been in an unfortunate position over the last couple of years where the surgeries I have chosen to undergo have changed my body and my facial features.” She added: “My face looks a little bit more drawn in and I age a lot quicker than the average women in her mid-30s because I’m going through the menopause.”
Perfectha is said to be suitable for all aspects of facial contour correction, including replacing lost volume in the cheek and chin area. The range comprises five different fillers to offer solutions to 15 different aesthetic indications.
Dr Vincent Wong, National Trainer for Perfectha, explained: “Michelle has undergone surgeries to remove her ovaries which have an important function in producing oestrogen which is responsible for maintaining the hyaluronic acid and collagen content in the skin. With this disruption, Michelle had lost a lot of volume in her face, mainly in the cheek area which I was able to restore with Perfectha.”
