Mibelle targets dermal stem cells

Launches PhytoCellTec Argan

The latest addition to Mibelle Biochemistry’s PhytoCellTec portfolio has been developed to work on newly identified dermal stem cells. While considerable research is currently being conducted regarding epidermal regeneration by stem cells at the basal layer of the epidermis, the role of stem cells in the dermis, which delivers firmness and elasticity to the skin, has until now remained a mystery. But according to Mibelle, the recent discovery of dermal stem cells in the papilla of the hair bulb – which self-renew to induce the formation of hair follicles and which migrate into the inter-follicular dermis where they proliferate and differentiate to fibroblasts that regenerate the extracellular matrix – has opened the door to the next generation of stem cell cosmetics.

PhytoCellTec Argan is based on argan stem cells and has been shown to vitalise and protect dermal stem cells enabling them to maintain their regenerating potential, thereby fighting wrinkles and loss of firmness right at their formation.
