Mintel has unveiled its three key predictions that will impact the global beauty and personal care industry in 2026.

The global market intelligence agency has identified trends that, by 2030, will advance the industry, with consumers expecting serums and supplements to double as wellness diagnostics.

Beauty experiences will shift from delivering results to regulating mood and evoking emotion, while imperfection will be celebrated as the “new perfection”.

A tech-filled future for beauty

Among the new predictions is ‘Metabolic Beauty’, which Mintel described as the industry entering a new phase where health, technology and personalisation converge.

The driving force behind this trend is the advancement of technology, which can provide “clearer and more immediate feedback”, Andrew McDougall, Mintel Director of Insights Beauty & Personal Care, told Cosmetics Business.
