Bernard Chevilliat, a bee keeper and biologist founded the organic company Melvita in the Ardèche, a region in the south east of France in 1983, with the desire to place nature at the heart of all of the company’s products. Appropriately, the name Melvita refers to nature and derives from the Latin words ‘mel’, meaning honey, and ‘vita’, life.
