La Prairie, the Beiersdorf-owned luxury skin care brand, has named Philippe Lamy as its new CEO, succeeding Patrick Rasquinet who is stepping down from the role after 12 years.
A luxury retail expert with experience across innovative start-ups as well as established brands across all major markets, Lamy (right) joins the Swiss skin care house after an 8-year career at LVMH-owned Italian luxury fabric and clothing company Loro Piana.
He previously served as COO for Chinese luxury brand Shang Xia, as well as spending more than 13 years with L’Oréal in roles across in the beauty giant's luxury and travel retail divisions, focusing on Asia Pacific and the Americas.
“It is a great honour for me to take up this role at La Prairie and I am very excited by the opportunities ahead,” said Lamy.
“The La Prairie House is magnificent, and the company has relentlessly built up its brand positioning in the last few years.
“I feel truly privileged to be part of the next chapter of such a luxurious and leading House as La Prairie.”
Lamy will take over the role from Rasquinet this April, while the latter will focus on his role leading Beiersdorf's Pharmacy and Selective Division – which includes recently acquired luxury skin player Chantecaille as well as dermatological brand Eucerin – as part of Beiersdorf's Executive Board.

Rasquinet added: “In Philippe we have found a strong leader, a forward-thinking strategist and a luxury retail industry insider.
“He has all the credentials to drive La Prairie forward over the coming years and help the company fulfil its potential of becoming the kind of legendary luxury house that we envision.
“I am delighted to welcome him to the Beiersdorf Group and to leave La Prairie in his very capable hands.
“I look forward to working closely with him to make our vision come true.”
