A US perfume manufacturer has filed a lawsuit against L'Oreal and its Giorgio Armani perfumes division for trademark infringement of a scent named Attitude.
Mahender Sabhnani, who runs a successful perfume business in Long Island NY, claims that he launched Attitude in 1995 and that it sold nationwide in the United States.
In March, it is claimed that his wife Varsha came across the news that Giorgio Armani had launched a men's fragrance in the same name. However initial reports claim that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office had cancelled his trademark because he had neglected to file some paperwork, and L'Oreal applied to use the name last December.
