L'Oréal aims for a million new clients in 2011

Middle classes in emerging markets are the key focus


L'Oréal has declared 2010 to have been a good year for the company with marked gains in market share. Jean-Paul Agon, company president, said the company had "rediscovered the growth trail", progressing in all the major zones around the world with brands gaining across the board. Sales rose in the first nine months of 2010 by 11.6% to €14.5bn.

The immediate objective for 2011 is to gain a million new clients in focusing on the middle classes in the newly emerging markets. Currently the company achieves its sales on the basis of 15% of the world population but Agon says total sales are set to double over the next decade with growth coming from the Asia Pacific region in

particular.
