L'Occitane en Provence has named actress Aria Mia Loberti as its latest brand ambassador.
Loberti will make her acting debut in Netflix's upcoming series All the Light We Cannot See.
The 29-year-old, who is blind, will serve as the face of L'Occitane's shea butter hand cream.
"This selection stands as a tribute to the tactile nature of shea butter, and how it nourishes hands . . . hands that for some act as eyes and awaken other senses," said the brand in a statement.
The French beauty brand highlighted, as part of the appointment announcement, its work to support visually impaired people via its L'Occitane Foundation.
L'Occitane said that since 1997 it has included Braille in much of its product packaging.
"This commitment resonates deeply with Loberti, not only because of her own human rights advocacy, but also since she herself has low vision," it claimed.
Loberti said: "During my first visit to Provence, I was profoundly moved by L'Occitane's commitment to nurturing authentic beauty within our world and ourselves."
