Klarna has launched a virtual shopping platform which brings the traditional customer service offering found in bricks-and-mortar stores to the online space.
The app allows customers to browse and buy online by connecting them directly with in-store representatives through live chats and video calls to receive product advice.
The service is already live with over 300 brands, including British perfume house, Penhaligon's, and is now being offered globally to the group’s 400,000 retailers.
The global retail bank, payments and shopping services provider said in-store teams can share photos and videos of items and demo products live directly from the store floor, from home or from emerging dark store concepts.
It added that by placing human interaction at the centre of the online shopping journey, the app ‘empowers retailers to create immersive experiences that are proven to increase customer engagement, reduce returns and drive loyalty’.
The launch builds upon the group’s acquisition of Hero, a social shopping platform, last year.
