Japan Retail sales see third consecutive month of growth

Japan’s retail sales in September rose 2.3% from a year earlier to JPY11.24trillion, up for the third straight month, according to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.



The September rise was well above expectations for a 0.6% rise and up from a 1.2% rise in August. It marked the highest retail sales increase since March.
