Inter Parfums signs worldwide agreement with Betsey Johnson
Licensee to create fragrance, colour cosmetics and personal care products for lifestyle brand
C&T developer, manufacturer and distributor Inter Parfums Inc has signed an exclusive worldwide agreement with Betsey Johnson LLC, a New York-based fashion and lifestyle brand. Under the contract, which is due to run until the end of 2015, Inter Parfums will design, manufacture and sell fragrance, colour cosmetics and other personal care products. The agreement encompasses both direct sales to global Betsey Johnson stores and online retail stores. Additionally it includes a licensing component that will enable Inter Parfums to sell fragrance and beauty products to speciality and department stores, as well as other retail outlets worldwide.
“We envision building an upscale fragrance and beauty enterprise around the qualities that have defined and redefined the Betsey Johnson label for over 30 years,” said president of Inter Parfums USA, Andy Clarke, who described the fashion label as “feminine, whimsical but always recognisable”.
The first product to launch under the Betsey Johnson/Inter Parfums agreement will be a new take on the designer’s vintage fragrance, due out in August and described by Johnson as a “come hither scent”. This will be followed by a new fragrance collection next year.
