Glossybox has appointed Britta Fleck as its President & Managing Director for North America.
Fleck has worked for the beauty subscription service since its 2011 launch, initially working as its Senior Vice President of Global Brand Relations. She has also worked as a Trend Expert and Managing Director of North America for the company.
Now as President, Fleck will be tasked with driving growth and increasing consumer awareness of the Glossybox brand both in the US and internationally.
In a statement, Glossybox said, “Dedicated to continuously exploring the world of beauty, Fleck will lead the fast-growing, vibrant company into the future.”
Since its launch, Glossybox has grown exponentially, now offering its subscription service across ten countries. The company sends a box of sample-sized cosmetic products to its customers each month, as well as beauty tips and ideas.
More than 1,000 brands are now said to partner with Glossybox, including L’Oréal, Ciaté, Dove, Elizabeth Arden, Revlon and Schwarzkopf. The company says it has more than 250,000 subscribers, which can be ordered directly or purchased as a gift.
Glossybox is headquartered in Berlin, where Britta had previously worked. From now on she will be based in the US.
Fleck said of her appointment: “Having been the Senior Vice President of Global Brand Relations at the Glossybox headquarters for over three years, I plan to bring a unique global perspective on beauty to this new appointment.” Fleck said that she would focus on Glossybox’s expansion both in the US and globally. She said: “My core focuses will be strengthening our business in the US market as well as managing Glossybox’s overall positioning.” Glossybox also said that Fleck will “continue her instrumental work in driving organic growth of the business” and would also be tasked with “putting the Glossybox brand on the map”.
Prior to joining Glossybox, Fleck worked as Head of the Music Division at Filmpool and founded eye C music – a joint venture with MME & Helkon Media.
