Fragrance ingredients should be classified as cancer-causing, says EU
4-vinylcyclohexene highlighted as of concern
The European Commission is to harmonise at a European Union (EU) level the classification and labelling of fragrance ingredient 4-vinylcyclohexene (VCH), because of concerns it can help cause cancer. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) supported a proposal from France, that products containing the chemical should have to carry warning labels, rendering it unusable for personal care products.
