The French independent fragrance brand has launched its 312 Saint-Honoré scent to mark the boutique’s opening

French independent fragrance brand BDK Parfums has opened its first-ever flagship store in Paris.

Located at the French capital’s 312 Rue Saint-Honoré, the boutique is described as a “contemporary olfactory library”, where customers can shop the brand’s full product range and discover the raw materials used in its perfumes.

On offer will be BDK Parfums’ four fragrance collections: La Collection Parisienne, La Collection Matières, La Collection Azur and la Collection Exclusive.

Shoppers can also browse the brand’s range of hair perfumes and scented candles.

“Being able to provide our customers with a true olfactory experience in line with the values and aspirations of the Maison was important for the brand’s development,” David Benedek, founder of BDK Parfums, told Cosmetics Business.

Since the brand’s launch in 2016, “we have managed to build a clientele passionate about fine fragrances, and we are starting to be known and recognised in the industry,” he added.

“Opening a boutique symbolises maturity, stability and recognition, and we believe that today the brand can and should take this new step.”

Inside, the store features mineral materials such as white burgundy stone, concrete and glass, and is said to represent a link between the outside and the inside.

The brand has also launched a new fragrance to mark the opening, called 312 Saint-Honoré after the boutique’s address.

Created by Benedek alongside perfumer Alexandra Carlin, the scent features opening notes of pink peppercorn, leading to a heart of musks, lactones and orange blossom.

The base, meanwhile, is said to feature a “sensual and animalic” accord with ambroxane, warm musks and oud wood essence, said the brand.

The edp will launch next month exclusively at department store Harvey Nichols in the UK, before rolling out to other retailers in April.

BDK Parfums is currently available via retailers Selfridges, Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Fenwick, as well as via its own website bdkparfums.com.

Benedek told Cosmetics Business that he hopes to open further standalone stores “someday”, although he did not give any further details.
