Elevance acquires its first North American Refinery in Mississippi
Many new jobs to be created as a result
Specialty chemicals company Elevance Renewable Sciences Inc has announced that it has acquired its first refinery in North America – located in Adams Country, Natchez, Mississippi – Delta Biofuels.
Elevance plans to expand the existing 800,000 sqft facility in multiple phases over the next five years and says the result will be “a world scale bio-refinery and derivatives operation”. This will involve the investment of $225m and will create 165 fill time jobs over the next five years, in addition to 300 construction jobs.
Mississippi Governor, Hayley Barbour, comments: Elevance’s decision to locate here in this state results in a significant in the area and its economy, as well as in the local workforce.
