Murad Skin Care’s founder Dr Howard Murad hosted an art therapy class last week to promote his philosophy of maintaining health and beauty from the inside out.
Dr Murad explained at the event that the majority of people who are concerned about their skin only think about what can be seen on the outside. He argued that the whole person needs to be addressed because all parts of the body are interconnected. He said: “The skin is connected to the heart physically and emotionally so it is essential to have a happy heart and enjoy your passion.”
Dr Murad lives by what he preaches and enjoys creating pieces of art in his spare time. At the event, which was held in London, he showed beauty bloggers and journalists the benefits of painting like a child and “staying in touch with a passion”.
The class began with Dr Murad demonstrating how easy it is to create a work of art and to have fun in the process. He poured bottles of paint over a canvas, mixed the colours together with a paintbrush, spritzed water over the top and added some finger prints for good measure. The attendees were then given the chance to have some fun of their own and create their own masterpiece, which they could take home.
The event was also used to announce the launch of the Murad Exfoliating Collection and Collagen Support Body Cream.
The Murad Exfoliating Collection launches on 1 October and includes three different types of exfoliator that have been designed for different skin types. The Skin Smoothing Polish has been designed for dull, uneven skin, the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser is suitable for dehydrated, ageing skin and the Transforming Powder is ideal for blemish-prone skin.
The Collagen Support Body Cream, which launches on 1 November nourishes the skin by locking in moisture for 24 hours. It has a high-performance blend of hyaluronic acid to attract moisture along with anti-ageing peptides to stimulate collagen production.
