Aptar has developed a dispensing system featuring two barriers against external contamination. The Irresistible pump uses Aptar's Ultragate technology, which consists of a primary barrier against contamination by bacteria present in the air and a secondary one against retro-contamination via contact of the pump nozzle with consumers' fingers; 0.2µm sterilising filters derived from the pharmaceutical world are used to prevent contamination by airborne bacteria, while an airtight needle valve integrated into the actuator makes it impossible for the formulation to flow back into the dispensing channel and seals the actuator opening.
The Irresistible comes in airless and atmospheric versions.
