Direct selling in China by foreign-funded business is set to increase due to a recent move that saw fourteen companies such as Avon (China), Nu Skin (China), Oriflame Cosmetics (China), MaryKay Cosmetics (China) and Amway (China), and five domestic companies, gain licenses to sell on the Chinese market.
The Ministry of Commerce in China stated that since the Administration of Direct Selling Regulations took effect on 1 December 2005 direct selling had been able to flourish due to correct guidance and had opened up the business to foreign enterprise.
The method of direct selling within the country is said to be one of a variety of popular future marketing strategies though it is highly possible that illegal activity might occur.
