Dr Hauschka is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most ethical and environmentally conscious C&T companies, winning admirers at every turn while proving that beauty needn’t cost the earth, as Katie Middleweek reports.
The company came into being due to a variety of factors and through the works and thinkings of a number of different people to become what is now regarded as one of the most successful and respected C&T businesses in Germany today.
Behind any business is a complex back story although usually in the case of German beauty companies, which are largely family founded and run, there is just one main person or founder that set the ball rolling.
In the case of Stuttgart-based skin care brand Dr Hauschka, owned and operated by parent company Wala GmbH, there are actually three people to thank for its existence: Austrian philosopher Rudolph Steiner, Austrian medical chemist Dr Rudolph Hauschka and Austrian nurse Elisabeth Sigmund.
