UK spa brand Champneys has announced it is to significantly increase its spa business with the launch of a major high street spa project.

The first phase of spas will be located in Enfield, Guildford and St. Albans and will offer a combination of spa therapies and rituals, from a lunchtime manicure to longer treatments. The spas will be located in the central shopping areas of the three towns and will be open seven days a week, including some evenings.

The move comes after the success of the company's debut high street spa, which opened in Chichester in November 2006. Champneys intends to grow the business, with another 16 -20 spas opening in 2008, and up to 50 spas by 2011.

“The concept we are offering is new, and we have the pedigree to deliver high-quality experiences in these new high street spas,” commented Champneys director Steven Purdew.

The Champneys brand consists of several luxury spas and a skin and body care range available exclusively at supermarket Sainsbury's ,
