Middle Eastern retail conglomerate chalhoub group has launched a new fragrance retail brand.
Ghawali is described as an oriental fragrance concept store and will stock Chalhoub’s own Oriental Fragrance line.
The first store opened in Dubai Festival City, while others followed in City Walk, Riyadh and Jeddah.
Chalhoub said it plans to expand the Ghawali store network to the entire Gulf region over the next five years.
Patrick Chalhoub, Co-CEO of the Chalhoub Group, said Ghawali was created with the aim of creating a memorable in-store experience.
He said: “In the Arabic culture, fragrance is more than just a scent; it is linked to traditions, values, status and heritage, hence strong emotional bonds with the brand are essential.
"We created Ghawali with the aim of being closer to our customers, to create memorable shopping journeys and offer a unique and personalised service within luxurious surroundings.”
Chalhoub added that Ghawali means “something precious, something dear”.
Scents sold via Ghawali include perfumes, oils, bakhoor (home fragrance) and oud, alongside bath and body products, shower gel, hair and body oil and body cream.
