This year’s CEW(UK) Achiever Awards celebrated 20 years of CEW(UK) with the presentation of a surprise Lifetime Achiever award to CEW(UK) president Caroline Neville. Neville, who founded Neville McCarthy PR & Communications in 1962, was presented the award by her children: Dominic McCarthy, managing director of Neville McCarthy and deputy managing director Louisa McCarthy.
The 2012 event, which took place last night (16 October) at The London Hilton, also recognised Victoria Pendleton MBE, double Olympic gold medal winning cyclist and Pantene ambassador, who won the CEW(UK) 20th Anniversary Achiever award, and the late Anita Roddick DBE, founder of The Body Shop, who received a posthumous Lifetime Achiever award.
Roisin Donnelly, corporate marketing director, P&G UK and Ireland; Janet Saunders, general manager, Clinique UK and Ireland; Jo Walker, managing director, The Perfume Shop; and journalist Alice Hart-Davis, creator of Good Things Skincare were all named 2012 Achievers. Meanwhile, Carlotta Jacobson, president of CEW Inc; Françoise Montenay, president of CEW France; and Kenneth Green, chairman, Kenneth Green Associates received 2012 Special Industry Awards.
Finally, Clare and Rebecca Hopkins, co-founders of Balance Me and Sian Jones, director of Balance Me won the 2012 Members’ Achiever award, voted for by CEW(UK) members from a shortlist which also included NEOM Organics founder Nicola Elliot, Scratch + Sniff Events founder Lizzie Ostrom and Analisa Ariss, creator of Maddi Alexander.
