Tabloid and reality TV favourite Katie Price is the latest celebrity to cash in on the growing popularity of celebrity fragrances with the launch of her debut scent, Stunning.
The fruity floral created by Robertet features mandarin at the top, blending into a heart of jasmine and a warm base of patchouli, and was launched in partnership with Jigsaw ESL, the brains behind Jade Goody and Callum Best's recent fragrance launches. It will be positioned as a selective fragrance launch.
Stunning is expected to be the first of several fragrances from the former glamour model according to Jigsaw managing director, John Roach. “Katie has been involved in fragrance all her life and she has been involved in the creation of her scent as much as possible, from the selection of the fragrance to the bottle design and the packaging,” he told SPC. “We are looking at developing other fragrances as well as a cosmetics and accessories in the future.”
Roach also hinted at the possibility of launching of fragrance with Price's husband, pop singer Peter Andre. “Anything's possible in the future,” he mused.
The launch signals a new period of product activity from Jigsaw. Later this year the company will launch a men's and women's fragrance from its license agreement with Storm watches, and in January 2008 it will unveil its new fragrances from UK club The Ministry of Sound. Roach also suggested the company will be working closely with other celebrities in the future. “We are working closely with OK magazine and expect to see some results soon,” he said.
Stunning by Katie Price will be available nationwide in the UK from 24 August and will retail at £18 for 30ml edp, rising to £34 for 100ml. A luxury bath and body lotion and gift set will also be available.
