A study last year, carried out by polling organisation BVA, found that only 57% of French people shower every day. However, the latest market figures, which confirm yet another year’s squeaky clean performance from the shower category, make this rather hard to believe. According to IRI France, the total bathroom products market, which spans shower gels, soaps bath and baby wash products, was worth €803.54m in the year to 4 October 2015 (sales through hypermarkets, supermarkets, hard discount and e-commerce), registering a rise of 1.8% in value sales, and 0.9% in volume terms to 378.43m units.
