Aveda UK has raised over £100,000 for clean water projects worldwide with its Earth Month initiative, through the sale of its Earth Month Light the Way Candle and other fundraising efforts by the Aveda UK network.

This is the second year that Aveda has partnered with the Global Greengrants Fund on this initiative, which aims to provide clean water for disadvantaged peoples across the globe.

As well as selling the charity candles in store, UK staff took part in a plethora of fundraising activities including a fashion show, a prize raffle and makeovers and hair colouring, given in return for a donation to the fund.

Commenting on the achievement, Vincenzo Minore, general manager of Aveda UK said: “This is what makes Aveda so unique – or commitment to sheer hard work really does make a difference.”

Internationally, Aveda’s Earth Month campaign raised $2.8m, far exceeding this year’s target of $2.3m.
