Arden takes Riviera approach

Elizabeth Arden has bought the brand licences and certain assets of Riviera Concepts for an undisclosed sum. The Canadian company's portfolio includes licences for Alfred Sung, Hummer, Nanette Lepore, Cynthia Rowley, Lulu Guinness and Bob Mackie. A Badgley Mischka fragrance is queuing up for launch in the US and Canada this autumn.

Commenting on the acquisition, Arden's chairman and ceo E. Scott Beattie said: “Riviera Concepts has done an exemplary job of developing these brands during its ownership; we will continue this momentum and focus on building these brands on a more global basis through increased support and distribution.”
