The Rainbow Cosmetics-owned brand offers a range of vegan and cruelty-free bronzing and colour cosmetics products

Sunkissed, the UK-based self-tan brand, is topping up its eco-friendly glow with new sustainable labels from packaging company The Label Makers.

With its collection of bronzing and colour cosmetics products already featuring vegan and cruelty-free formulas, the Rainbow Cosmetics-owned brand's latest partnership aims to offer consumers a more eco-friendly option with new bio-based PE labels to complement its sustainable bottles and tubes.

Audrey Laurent, Head of Own Brand at Rainbow Cosmetics, said: “Being an environmentally responsible business and wanting to bring a strong innovative proposition to the consumer, it was important for us to fully reflect our values in our packaging for the Sunkissed brand.”

The company worked with Yorkshire-based The Label Makers to create bio-based PE labels, an alternative to standard PE made from 100% sugar cane ethanol, which were then printed on the packaging company's digital press.

Meanwhile, to serve the brand's global customer base, the new labels also include a flexo-printed multi-page peel and reveal device, offering product information in 15 different languages.

This is the latest in a series of collaborations between The Label Makers and Rainbow Cosmetics, with the packaging company having previously worked on labels for Rainbow's own-brand beauty ranges, which include luxury bath and body band Style and Grace and influencer-targeted cosmetics brand Q-KI.

Ben Robinson, Business Development Manager at The Label Makers, commented that the new labels provided a “perfect solution” to complement Rainbow Cosmetics' sustainability goals, and added: “We look forward to our ongoing relationship.”

Today, the Sunkissed brand is available in more than 40 countries worldwide through retailers including Superdrug, Morrisons, boohoo.com and prettylittlething.com.

Most recently, it launched into Boots Ireland, Walgreens and Holland & Barrett earlier in the spring of 2020.
