Retailers battle it out in Germany

Germany's key beauty stores are undergoing shake-ups, writes Annemarie Kruse

In terms of beauty retail, 2014-15 was a tempestuous year for Germany. Three of Germany’s biggest beauty retailers changed hands during the last twelve months. Perfumery chain Douglas was sold to a Luxembourg-based private equity group, department store retailer Karstadt went to an Austrian investor and department store chain Kaufhof was recently sold to a Canadian retail group.
