The German-based beauty heavyweight is set to relaunch its European shampoo brand Schauma with the new formula

German-based beauty brand Henkel has announced it will relaunch its European shampoo brand Schauma with a new vegan formula, according to Reuters.

The brand currently manufactuers hair care ranges to help repair and protect hair, as well as a '7 herbs' range and products line for men and babies.

Today, Henkel is the maker of the hair care ranges Scwarzkopf and Syoss as well as consumer products brand Persil.

It is the latest beauty heavyweight to join the vegan movement as more brands make the effort to cater for the needs of their customers.

Last year Unilever introduced a new vegan range, its first product launch for 20 years.

Meanwhile, L’Oréal acquired vegan beauty product firm Logocos Naturkosmetic in 2018, where core brands include Logona and Sante, in an effort to compete in the expanding natural and organic beauty category.

The announcement comes following its full year results which saw a 2.1% increase in sales.
