UK based contract manufacturer ceases trading after "insurmountable pressure"

Broad Oak Toiletries, the UK based cosmetics contract manufacturing company, went into administration on Friday, February 5 2016 and is now under control of BDO LLP. The website has been removed and it has been confirmed it has ceased all operations. All employees, over 200, have been made redundant. The administrators commented that a deal to sell the business had not been achieved and explained the firm faced "insurmountable pressures" after expanding rapidly two years ago.

Broad Oak Ltd was an experienced manufacturer dating back to 1985. It boasted customers such as Jo Malone and Jack Wills and just a year ago in the year to January 2015 Broad Oak reported growing revenues of over £19m, however it swung from profit to an operating loss of over £750K during the period.

It is not thought this will affect parent Floris; the Bodenham family owned perfumery business.
