Fans of the original Jurassic Park film will remember the moment when computer programmer Dennis Nedry attempts to smuggle out dinosaur embryos inside a can of Barbasol shaving cream.
Now, in homage to this scene and anticipation of the new Jurassic World film, Crown Aerosols North America, a unit of packaging company Crown Holdings, has unveiled two limited-edition shaving cream cans featuring Velociraptors and Pteranodons.
Crown's Midwest Graphics Lithography Center is said to have worked closely with Perio, the parent company of Barbasol, to design the cans. The illustrations are featured as part of a design with the iconic Barbasol shaving cream striped packaging. The designs were created by artist Mark Englert – the same artist that Universal Pictures enlisted to create Jurassic World movie posters for last year's San Diego Comic-Con.
Sarah Paulson, Brand Manager at Perio, said: "Not only are we thrilled about our partnership with Universal Pictures to celebrate the new Jurassic World film, but we are also excited to work with Crown to capture these unique designs on our cans."
Melissa Quintana, Marketing Manager with Crown Aerosols North America, added: "We had a lot of fun working on this project with Perio. Everyone on our team, from printing to manufacturing, took pride in showcasing the new film in the iconic series."
