Eco-Logic is biodegradable and aimed at the beauty and cosmetics market

GPA Global has introduced Eco-Logic, a new range of sustainable, biodegradable secondary packaging.

Made from moulded pulp, Eco-Logic uses water-based glue and soy-based inks, as well as biodegradable finishes.

The moulded pulp is made from recycled paper or natural fibres blended with water and pressed into moulds; these include bagasse, shredded bamboo, wheat straw, newsprint, corrugated cardboard and paper. It is also fully compostable.

GPA Global’s thermoforming wet press technology is said to provide a variety of customised finishes, such as soft-touch coating for a matte finish; spray-on coating for a semi-gloss finish; film laminate for water resistance; textured paper laminate; wood grain laminate; plastic-like finish; flocking for a velvety finish; hot stamping; silk screen printing; and embossing/debossing.

The Butterfly pack version is wrapped in black, FSC-certified paper, embellished with a pink and gold floral design. Further embellishments include gold foil piping around the edges of the lid and UV butterflies.

The Leaf coffret, meanwhile, has a modern botanical design with a moulded pulp insert and biodegradable aluminium transfer paper on the inner face of the lid.
