In a repeat of history, beauty salons and hairdressers in England are set to lose out on the easing of Covid-19 restrictions next month.

According to reports, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce later today that the sector, which generates more than £9bn to the UK’s economy every year, will not be given permission to welcome back customers until at least April.

Non-essential retailers anticipate they will be allowed to reopen from late March.
